Tell us the broad goal and current difficulty. We will take it from there.

  1. Start with a free session

Your free first session is a live diagnostic: we get to know you and how best to support you.

  2. Agree the next steps

We use the diagnostic report to choose the skills to practise and a pace that suits the learner.

  3. Work towards your goal

Sessions can combine focused skill-building, exam preparation and meaningful longer-term projects.

  4. Review the plan each week

Your tutor writes a weekly lesson report, and our founder reads it. We review what is working and adjust the learner’s plan.

Tell us your child’s goal

More than an hour a week.

Real projects and tools, made for students.

Tell us what they love

Learning is easier when you enjoy it.

So we start with what each learner already loves and build the lessons around it. The right environment does the heavy lifting: they grow by doing, with support pitched just beyond what they can do alone. Have a look through all four.

English · Journalism

Sports journalism

The goal

Using a discouraged student’s interests and insights to practise English.

Developing skills

Telling fact from opinion, and writing both: objective match reports and previews, then subjective opinion pieces where he argues his corner. Word choice mattered too. Is a fan’s view “disgraceful”, or just “controversial”?

Finding the link

Football. He already had strong opinions about Leeds, tactics and the modern game, so every lesson started with something he wanted to say.

The result

His own growing sports journalism website, full of his previews, analysis and reports, from hydration breaks to how football has changed since 1970. Written by him, with our support on the editing.

DARTY

The goal

Turning writing from the last thing he wanted to do into how he builds his own game.

Developing skills

Writing with purpose, cause and effect, and intrinsic motivation. When he writes “the defenders keep passing back and forth, needs fixing”, he sees exactly what his words change.

Finding the link

He loves football games. When we started, writing was the last thing he wanted to do. Now every change to his game starts with him writing it down.

The result

A playable 3D football game built from his written requests: he directs, we code. Player movement, passing and goalkeeper reactions each began as a request he wrote.

Drink design

The goal

Regaining his creative and working flow, through designing drinks.

Developing skills

Slogans, word choice and persuasive language. “Light, bright red. Fizzy Extreme.”, “When you’re in a rush, have some Skids.” and Ground Pinch’s pitch, “It’s sweet, fast, cheap, and will help you destroy your enemies.”, are all his.

Finding the link

Designing drinks he’d actually want to buy, so the names, labels and adverts mattered to him.

The result

A collection of drinks brands, from his sketches, label designs and slogans to 3D renders you can spin.

SEN · Music brain breaks

Piano

The goal

Productive brain breaks: a few minutes of music at a time, then back to work with a fresh head.

Developing skills

Listening, spotting patterns and keeping time. Green shows the note to play now and purple the one after, while the tempo bar keeps the beat.

Finding the link

Hear a note, play it back, try again. Short wins on songs he asks for, like The Entertainer.

The result

A custom keyboard, songs they can request and learn, and a fresh head for the next task.
